DFAT has issued a travel warning for Thailand after an Australian was burned by a grenade and three people died in political violence gripping Bangkok.
Melbourne man Benjamin Rowse, 26, was taken to the Bangkok Christian Hospital, where he is in a stable condition.
He was one of dozens injured when a series of grenade blasts ripped through a pro-government rally in Bangkok, the latest bloodshed in the heart of the Thai capital.

The Australian embassy in Bangkok has offered staff living in flashpoint areas the option to move to other accommodation until the situation is resolved.

There had been only minor sporadic clashes outside Bangkok but more serious incidents could happen anywhere with little warning.

The military said earlier on Thursday it wanted to avoid further bloodshed but warned time was running out for the demonstrators to leave their base in Bangkok’s shopping and hotel district.
